Our Services

We turn judgment into process.

Our framework exists to make complex decisions easier to understand — and easier to document. Each pillar answers a specific question a fiduciary should be able to ask, and expect a clear, recorded answer to.

The Four Pillars

A framework built around the right questions.

Define risk more clearly

How much could this portfolio realistically go down or up over the next 6 months?

We do more than call a portfolio conservative, moderate, or aggressive. By looking closely at what is inside the portfolio, we estimate a clearer range for how much it could rise or fall over the next six months.

We also use stress tests to show how a portfolio might have performed in both tough and strong markets — giving fiduciaries a documented understanding of risk rather than a general label.

Plan for income and depletion

Based on my age, risk tolerance, and assets, how much can I spend each month?

We use planning analytics, including Monte Carlo analysis, to help evaluate income sustainability over time.

More importantly, we focus on creating clearer guardrails for spending and adjustment as conditions change. This helps answer one of the most important questions a client can ask: how much can I spend each month while still staying aligned with the bigger picture?

Select investments with discipline

How do we build a portfolio that is thoughtful, efficient, and grounded in a clear process?

Our independence allows us to evaluate a broad universe of more than 5,000 ETFs through a disciplined and unbiased process. We look for investments that have performed well relative to peers, earned strong forward-looking ratings, and offer low costs and tax efficiency.

We also use an efficiency score to evaluate diversification and correlation, helping measure how efficiently the investments work together to reduce unnecessary volatility while preserving return potential.

For existing portfolios, this provides an objective, transparent framework for comparison — allowing trustees to make concrete, documentable progress toward improvement over time.

Analyze individual stocks more deeply

If a client has a large position in a single stock, what is the most prudent next step?

For individual stocks, especially large or legacy holdings, we follow a clear process that considers value, dividend history, external research, and technical analysis.

This helps fiduciaries determine whether a stock is undervalued, fairly valued, or expensive — and provides a solid, documented basis for deciding whether to keep, reduce, diversify, or use the stock for income over time.

What Sets Our Approach Apart

Three principles, applied every day.

Transparent decision-making

No one has a crystal ball or a time machine. What matters is having a thoughtful, disciplined process. We believe fiduciaries deserve a clear understanding of the process behind the portfolio — not a "black-box" approach that is difficult to explain or defend.

Clearer communication

We make it easier to communicate with clients, beneficiaries, trustees, and the court by providing clear visuals, thorough analysis, and straightforward reports.

Independent guidance

Our recommendations are shaped by thoughtful analysis and the specific needs of each client — not by a firm’s preferred product lineup or internal selling arrangements.

Examples of How We Help

A sample of the work we’re asked to do.

Concentrated and highly appreciated stock review

We review large, concentrated stock holdings, even those with significant unrealized gains, and create a clear, practical plan to reduce risk, generate income, and diversify over time in a tax-smart way. Covered call strategies may also be appropriate in some cases.

Portfolio risk and volatility review

We use analytics and stress tests to help clarify downside risk and how a portfolio might behave. For example: over the next six months, is the portfolio more likely to see a 5% drop or a 25% drop? This kind of insight helps fiduciaries make more confident decisions about risk.

Comprehensive portfolio audit

We offer a thorough review of the portfolio covering risk, concentration by size and style, internal costs, geographic spread, and fixed-income structure. When needed, we make adjustments to better meet fiduciary duties and court requirements.
